Who FemiCore is meant for

The manufacturer aims FemiCore at adult women who notice their bladder more than they would like. That usually means a sudden urge to go, more trips at night, or small leaks when you cough, laugh or lift something. These problems become more common after pregnancy and around menopause, which is why most of the marketing speaks to women over 40.

It is not aimed at men, and it is not a product for children. It is also not meant for anyone with symptoms that point to infection or another medical problem, which we cover below.

The idea behind it: the urinary microbiome

For a long time doctors assumed healthy urine was sterile. In 2012 researchers led by Wolfe found bacteria living in the bladders of healthy adult women, which opened a new area of research. Two years later, Pearce and colleagues compared women with and without urgency incontinence. Women with urgency symptoms had a different mix of bladder bacteria, with Lactobacillus less dominant.

FemiCore’s logic follows from that. If friendly Lactobacillus bacteria are linked with a calmer bladder, adding Lactobacillus strains might help. The four plant ingredients are there to back up the urinary tract in other ways, such as cranberry’s effect on repeat infections.

It is a sensible idea, but still an idea. These studies show an association, not that a capsule changes it. No published trial has tested FemiCore itself. Our guide to FemiCore benefits looks at what each claimed benefit rests on.

How FemiCore is sold, and what it costs

FemiCore is sold online only, through the manufacturer’s store. BuyGoods runs the checkout and ships the orders. You buy a one-time package of 2, 3 or 6 bottles, and there is no subscription. The price per bottle drops from $79 to $49 as the package gets bigger, with free US shipping on 3 and 6 bottles. You can pay by card or PayPal.

It is not sold in pharmacies, and the manufacturer does not list it on Amazon, Walmart or eBay. Because cheap copies and trial offers do circulate, we wrote a separate guide on whether FemiCore is a scam and how to spot fake sellers.

The 60-day money-back guarantee

Every package comes with a 60-day guarantee, counted from the day your order is delivered. To use it, contact customer support within those 60 days and send back all the bottles, empty or full, with the packing slip. The purchase price goes back to your original payment method. Return shipping is at your own cost.

What FemiCore is not

What is FemiCore infographic: what FemiCore is compared with what it is not

A lot of confusion comes from what people assume a bladder capsule can do. Here is what FemiCore is not:

  • Not a drug. It is a dietary supplement. It cannot claim to treat, cure or prevent any disease.
  • Not FDA approved. The FDA does not approve supplements. The manufacturer says it is made in a GMP-certified, FDA-registered facility in the USA, which is a statement about the factory.
  • Not a weight-loss pill. Berberine and L. gasseri have some metabolic research, but FemiCore does not disclose doses and is not sold for weight loss. Losing weight does help many women with leaks, though. In one large trial, overweight women who lost about 8% of their weight had far fewer weekly leaks.
  • Not a quick fix. Probiotics act slowly. Expect weeks, not days.
  • Not a substitute for a check-up when symptoms are new, painful or getting worse.

Before you start

This guide is general information, not medical advice. Ask a clinician before taking FemiCore if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have kidney disease, or take any regular medicine. Berberine can lower blood sugar and interact with several drugs. Bearberry is traditionally taken for short periods only. See a doctor rather than trying a supplement if you notice blood in your urine, burning or pain when you go, fever, pain in your side, or leaks that started suddenly.

Bottom line

FemiCore is a once-a-day probiotic and herbal capsule for women who want to support bladder control. Its design rests on new research into bladder bacteria and on ingredients with some urinary track record, mainly cranberry. The amounts are not disclosed and the product itself has not been trialed. It is sold online only, in one-time packages, with a 60-day refund. For a quick visual overview, visit our FemiCore product page.
