What we publish

Four kinds of articles: guides on how fat loss works, nutrition pieces on protein, fiber, and eating patterns, explainers on metabolism and what actually changes it, and realistic fitness plans for people who are not already athletes. We also review supplements and programs, and we are explicit about which of those pages earn us money.

How an article gets written

We start with the question a reader would type into a search box, then look for the best available evidence: randomized trials, meta-analyses, and clinical guidelines first, observational studies second, expert opinion last. Where a recommendation depends on your body weight or activity level, we show the arithmetic so you can run it with your own numbers rather than trusting ours.

Every claim that could be checked links to its source at the bottom of the article. If we could not find a source we are comfortable with, we say the evidence is thin rather than rounding it up to a fact.

Affiliate links and reviews

Some product reviews contain affiliate links. If you buy through one, the seller pays us a commission. The price you pay does not change. These articles carry a disclosure at the top, and the affiliate relationship never decides what we write. Reviews are built from the ingredient list, the published evidence for each ingredient and dose, the pricing structure, and the refund policy. A product with a generous guarantee and weak evidence will be described exactly that way.

What we are not

We are not doctors, dietitians, or your clinician. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prescription, or a substitute for seeing someone who knows your history. If you are pregnant, have a chronic condition, or take prescription medication, talk to your clinician before changing how you eat or train. Our full disclaimer covers this in more detail.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix the article, note the change in the text, and update the revision date. If you spot an error, tell us. We would rather hear it from you than from a reader who acted on it.
